Introduction:
I’ve downloaded countless mental health apps—some helpful, some… not so much. Over time, I’ve narrowed it down to a handful of tools that genuinely support my well-being. They’re free or affordable, simple to use, and part of my real routine.
My Go-To Mental Health Apps
1. Daylio – Mood + Habit Tracker

This app helps me track my mood in two taps and spot patterns over time. It also reminds me of habits like stretching, meditating, or taking walks—without judgment.
2. Insight Timer – Free Guided Meditations
When anxiety hits, I open Insight Timer. The variety of meditations, calming music, and short mindfulness sessions make it my favorite for decompressing.
3. Shine – Daily Mental Health Support

Shine offers daily affirmations, audio check-ins, and mental health advice specifically made for BIPOC and marginalized communities. It feels like a gentle friend in my pocket.
4. MyNoise – Focus + Sleep Sounds
Whether I need to concentrate or fall asleep, MyNoise lets me mix customizable soundscapes like rain, ocean, or white noise. Great for focus breaks, too.
5. Notion – Emotional Journaling

I use a private Notion page as a digital journal. It’s where I vent, reflect, and log things I’m grateful for. No fancy prompts—just my thoughts.
Final Thoughts
Mental health care isn’t one-size-fits-all, but these apps have become a trusted part of my daily and weekly rituals. Simple, effective, and actually used—not just downloaded and forgotten.
